Do you even…RECOVER?

If you workout regularly, you want to see results from all your effort. One important element of getting great results is often overlooked - and that is RECOVERY.

When you’re working out, you are tearing down muscle tissue and putting stress on your body. In order for your body to adapt to that stress & come back stronger 💪 it needs time & energy to do that.

So how do you practice good recovery?

Absolute #1 is SLEEP 😴 7-9 hours of QUALITY sleep is ideal for most adults. We put this above nutrition because poor sleep can negatively impact your eating habits.

A very close second is NUTRITION 🍏 you need enough overall calories and plenty of nutrients so that your body can repair itself efficiently. This also includes drinking enough water.

Next is REST in general - take a rest day from the gym every other day or every 2 days. This is your time to relax or do something else active that you enjoy 😎

Speaking of, some light activity or body work on your rest days encourages faster recovery. Walking, yoga, stretching, massage 💆🏻‍♀️ & foam rolling are all great choices.
